History

Dubai is one of the most modern cities in the world with many first-class hotels, restaurants, and skyscrapers. Dubai has a rich history that goes back to ancient times when it was called "Duba" meaning "The Source."
Dubai's history is not only fascinating but also long. The city played an important role in trade for centuries because of its location near the Persian Gulf. It began as a small fishing village before becoming known for pearl diving during the 1800s. In 1833, Dubai was occupied by neighboring Abu Dhabi which led to economic growth due to increased foreign investment from Abu Dhabi. By 1904, oil had been discovered which led to more international recognition and further economic success.

Dubai, a modern city that has been built from scratch in the desert of Arabia by an ambitious Sheikh. The oil boom meant that Dubai became one of the fastest-growing cities in the world within a generation.

Oil History of Dubai:

Dubai is a city that has seen many changes in its relatively short history. Its oil production helped it grow into the largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates and one of the richest cities in the world. The story of Dubai, however, starts much earlier than this with an ancient civilization that predates even Islam.
It was not until 1859 when Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al-Maktoum found oil near what would become Ras Tanura that Dubai became a major player on the global stage. In 1949, after World War II, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum established OPEC to help stabilize prices for crude oil by controlling output volumes among member countries.
Dubai has a rich history, and its oil industry is a big part of that. Dubai's first well was drilled in 1958 by the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). It took over thirty years before ADCO struck black gold when they found commercial quantities of oil in the 1970s. This discovery changed the world forever and led to an economic boom in Dubai. The Emirate's huge reserves helped fuel its growth into one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

A lot has changed since Dubai was founded by Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum back in 1833; however, there are still traces of old Dubai sprinkled throughout modern-day buildings and neighborhoods. For example, take a look at our iconic Burj Khalifa skyscraper!

History of Burj Khalifa:

The Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building at 2,722 feet and 163 floors is an architectural marvel that has been open to the public since 2010. It was designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) with William F. Baker as chief architect and Adrian Smith as head designer. Construction of the tower began in 2004 and it took 5 years for completion. The purpose of this blog post is to tell you about its history! 

Burj Khalifa: Home to many records including, but not limited to highest occupied floor, tallest free-standing structure in the world, world's fastest elevator speed at 64 kph or 40 mph. This beautiful skyscraper holds more than 160 nationalities from around there.
Burj Khalifa is a towering symbol of Dubai. it took five years to construct and an estimated $1.5 billion to finish. This incredible feat of engineering has been named by Guinness World Records as "the world's tallest free-standing structure."

History of Al-Fahidi

It's time to learn about one of the most significant landmarks in Dubai, Al-Fahidi Fort. This historic landmark is located at the mouth of Dubai Creek and has been witness to many important events that shaped the history of our country.
Dubai has a rich history. The city’s first building was the Al-Fahidi Fort, built-in 1787 to protect Dubai from invaders by sea and land. Now it stands as a tourist destination for visitors to see the past of this old trading hub.

The locals call it "Al Fahidi" which means "the finder."
The Al-Fahidi District, also known as the Bur Dubai neighborhood, is a historical district in Dubai. It was established by Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum and is now one of the most popular areas for tourism in Dubai. The area has been rich with a history over the years and offers visitors something new every time they visit.

Dubai is one of the most fascinating places in the world to visit. There's so much to explore and experience that you'll be left feeling like a kid in a candy store.
Dubai is a city of leisure, with many things to do. One place you might not have seen before is Dubai Museum. It's an interesting place that offers visitors a chance to learn about the history of the United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai.
Once inside, there are three floors and four galleries filled with artifacts from all over the world - including ancient coins, pottery shards, and even fossils!  The fourth gallery displays items from traditional Emirati culture like clothing or weapons that were used in past centuries.
The Dubai Museum provides an insight into life in Dubai from ancient times through today, with artifacts dating back centuries. It also features interactive exhibits and activities for children, making it perfect for families looking for something educational and enjoyable all at once!
Dubai has been home to some of the most significant civilizations on earth, including those belonging to Romans, Persians, Greeks, and Ottomans. This museum offers an opportunity not only to learn about these cultures but also to see their contributions firsthand through archaeological finds such as pottery vessels and coins.
